Event Recap: William Helburn: Seventh and Madison book signing by @hopemisterek @thameshudsonusa @supima @swgallery #williamhelburn

On November 20th, Supima celebrated the release of the Thames & Hudson book William Helburn: Seventh and Madison featuring the works and life of fashion photographer William Helburn at Stanley-Wise Gallery.

At the gallery, we were able to mingle amongst the laid back old school art meets fashion scene giving us a little taste of what the book is all about and the chance to meet Helburn himself.

Even in the heyday, between the 1940’s-60’s while Helburn’s work was featured in many an advertisement, most of his work was uncredited; leaving him to lead a life that anyone familiar with legendary and nostalgic fashion photographer lore dreams of… under the public radar.

An amazing read and imagery for anyone interested in studying the oldmaster’s of fashion photography whether revisiting a period in time you knew, or visiting to look at a time where the industry was rich with provocative innovation, glamour and sex.
